ASBESTOS

FORMER TRAVELODGE HOTEL MIAMI RIVER
Asbestos-Containing Building Materials (ACBM) survey and abatement monitoring
The project involved ACBM inspection of a hotel tower and subsequent asbestos abatement project management and monitoring. ACBM inspections were completed per 40 CFR 763 Subpart E and 40 CFR 61. TCGI responsibilities included asbestos abatement monitoring (onsite PCM microscope and laboratory), abatement supervision, and clearance testing.

FORMER DUPONT PLAZA, MIAMI, FLORIDA
Asbestos-Containing Building Materials (ACBM) inspection & Abatement Monitoring
TCGI performed a ACBM inspection at Dupont Plaza, formerly in downtown Miami, encompassed over 300,000 square feet of hotel, condominiums, business/retail center, and marina.TCGI’s responsibilities included all field coordination, inspection, sampling, and assessment of ACM, followed by abatement monitoring (onsite PCM microscope and laboratory) and clearance testing.

REGULATORY COMPLIANCE & ASSESSMENTS

FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA)
Post-hurricane canal restoration in Miami-Dade County, Florida
TCGI managed field operations for sediment characterization project for drainage canals and basins located throughout Miami-Dade County. A hazard analysis and recommendations for materials management were also provided to the project contractors and the agency representatives.

FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY (FPL)
Performance of multiple wetlands and wildlife assessment surveys, including wetland delineation and identification of endangered species for power distribution systems. Projects included the “8 ½ - square mile” area of southwestern Miami-Dade County for the Everglades Restoration project managed by the South Florida Water Management District.

Assisted with various dewatering projects for underground duct installation. Activities included dewatering permit application submission and approval, turbidity monitoring during dewatering activities, and satisfaction of permit requirements.

Soil and groundwater assessment, monitoring, and remediation management activities at power distribution and generation facilities in accordance with all applicable environmental regulations and standards.

MOLD & INDOOR AIR QUALITY

BEACH CLUB, MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
TCGI performed water damage/mold assessments on all areas of the building subsequent to water damage sustained from Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma. Damage was discovered and mapped using infra-red cameras on building substrates (IR Diagnostics). TCGI’s project activities included field inspection, sampling, assessment, supervision and direction of remediation, and performance of post-remediation sampling.TCGI prepared reports to supply all data to the condo association.

STORM WATER DRAINAGE & PERMITTING

PORT EVERGLADES EXPANSION
TCGI
performed reasonable assurance activities for aquifer protection in association with the Port Everglades expansion project. TCGI’s project activities included test well drilling, soil profile characterization, hydrogeological evaluation, and compliance permitting services for the installation of stormwater drainage wells.

CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA
Neighborhood flood protection program
TCGI performed reasonable assurance reporting for stormwater drainage well planning. TCGI conducted soil characterization and hydrogeologic evaluations to assist the project engineer with flood protection compliance.

LEAD-BASED PAINT

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT) TURNPIKE ENTERPRISE
Lead-based paint inspections of over 500 facilities statewide
As a subcontractor, TCGI assisted with project scheduling and logistics, and completed site inspections for lead-based paint at an average rate of twenty structures per day.

ECOLOGICAL SERVICES & WETLANDS MANAGEMENT

ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS / SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT
STA-1 East, West Palm Beach, Florida, 640-acre demonstration project for the large-scale treatment of surface water.
Environmental survey activities included the evaluation of wetlands, habitat, endangered and threatened species, and species of special concern with daily site supervision for regulatory compliance. Site activities involved documenting the occurrence and behavior of wildlife, including burrowing owls, gopher tortoise, eastern indigo snake, bald eagle, American kestrel, and least tern.

BENTHIC / SEAGRASS SURVEYS, BROWARD AND PALM BEACH COUNTIES
Performance of benthic survey activities throughout coastal southeastern Florida for the purpose of obtaining coastal modification permits.
TCGI project activities included underwater ground-truthing for the presence/absence of ecological resources such as seagrasses, corals, and shellfish, and report completion and submission. Importance was placed on seagrass identification and distinction between Halophila johnsonii and Halophila decipiens for the conservation of the threatened seagrass, H. johnsonii.
