Asbestos Surveys & Management

TCGI has extensive experience in asbestos consulting with over a decade of EPA AHERA (40 CFR 763 subpart E Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act), OSHA and NESHAPS experience.

Asbestos is a well recognized health hazard and is highly regulated by OSHA and EPA rules and regulations. In order to determine potential exposure, building owners, building management firms, contractors, and employers are required to verify if the facility includes asbestos-containing material (ACM) that poses a risk to occupants. TCGI conducts asbestos-containing building material (ACBM) surveys to evaluate such risks.

As a licensed asbestos consulting firm, TCGI responds to client’s needs from individual building surveys to turn-key abatement management. The company’s team of professionals has experience in all work phases and infrastructure types including HVAC systems, residential, industrial, and institutional facilities. The company differentiates itself by providing clients with the best customer support possible. TCGI clients receive comprehensive survey reports including diagrams and photographs of tested materials; site risk assessment; and management plans that provide both short and long term management options with detailed budget information.

About Asbestos Surveys An estimated 1.3 million employees in construction and general industry face significant asbestos exposure on the job. Heaviest exposures occur in the construction industry, particularly during the removal of asbestos during renovation or demolition. Employees are also likely to be exposed during the manufacture of asbestos products (such as textiles, friction products, insulation, and other asbestos containing building material) and during automotive brake and clutch repair work.

Asbestos surveys entail the sampling of all suspect building materials (over 3,000 potential ACM materials) by a certified asbestos inspector. The materials are then sent to an accredited asbestos laboratory. The results are then logged into a report delineating material, locations, quantities, condition, potential hazards, and recommendations. The recommendations address demolition, renovation, and basic maintenance requirements. Stakeholders must be aware that asbestos-containing materials or asbestos containing building material (ACBM) in good condition can be properly managed in-place with a good operations and maintenance program.
